I would like to remind you in this post that Microsoft Office 2016 and 2019 clients are no longer maintained and their connections to Microsoft 365 are discontinued. October 10, 2023 was the last day of assistance. Microsoft has already notified a large number of people about this through its shared communication channels. Additionally, Office 2019 for Mac is no longer supported.
What are the repercussions?
Any updates and modifications may not be compatible with Microsoft Office 2016 or 2019 if you are still using it to login to Microsoft 365. Microsoft Office 2016 and 2019-based Microsoft 365 will not be the subject of any testing by Microsoft. Therefore, as long as your version of Office is current, Microsoft has not (yet) deliberately barred you from using it. However, as previously indicated, some changes may have an impact on features or connectivity that cannot be remedied in the future.
How could you do that?
You can use Office LTSC 2021 (October 13, 2026) or Microsoft 365 Apps to satisfy the Microsoft 365 connect requirements.
