⚡Nutanix Scales Effortlessly and Consistently
Begin with as few as three Nutanix nodes, then scale as rapidly or slowly as needed (i.e. one node at a time), ensuring performance consistency as more users are added. And, because each node brings the most up-to-date technology into the environment, the number of users per node (and thus performance) continues to rise. If an enterprise decides to upgrade its oldest nodes years down the road, the system may do so in minutes and with significantly fewer nodes than were originally necessary for the same resource demands. A forklift update is never available.
SAN-based infrastructure, on the other hand, frequently encounters various constraints as it scales, including storage controller throughput, IOPS, disk capacity, CPU, RAM, and network bandwidth. As the arrays approach their end of life, they will require a costly, sophisticated, time-consuming, and potentially dangerous forklift upgrade.

Nutanix is the location of the data. As nodes are scaled out in an EUC (End-User Computing) environment, Data Locality delivers constant and predictable performance. This eliminates the bottlenecks that SAN-based systems are prone to. Every node has dedicated local storage resources, which are pooled across the cluster and expand in performance and capacity in lockstep with the environment.
⚡Nutanix makes administration a lot easier
Citrix integration: Because of many Nutanix integrations with Citrix, Citrix administrators can adjust their environment or provision extra Nutanix resources, as well as provision both XenApp and XenDesktop machines through Citrix Studio.
High availability is built-in. PVS vDisk Store (vDisk Store): Nutanix can simplify PVS by using Nutanix Files for your vDisk store, as an example for businesses operating PVS.
Nutanix simplifies datastores by utilizing a single monolithic datastore that covers all disks and nodes in a cluster, making MCS and PVS configuration easier because you don't have to duplicate basic vDisks or template VMs with write cache disks across multiple datastores. Instead, as more Nutanix nodes are added to the cluster, the datastore extends dynamically, and no manual rebalancing is necessary.
Multi-Site Management: All infrastructure components for globally dispersed environments are managed and monitored through a single HTML5 interface. Citrix administrators may search all virtual machines (VMs) across all sites and hypervisors. With the Nutanix Prism Pro add-on, capacity planning is also possible.
Administrators can schedule snapshots and automatically replicate sites using native site-to-site replication (1:1 or mesh). Base images, persistent desktops, roaming profiles, department sharing, and more can all benefit from this. End-users can also mount snapshots in order to retrieve files.
⚡ Nutanix Lowers Cost
Nutanix customers save a lot of money thanks to the combination of less hardware, less storage network, less management, less rack space/power/cooling, and no forklift upgrades. The Total Economic Impact of Nutanix EUC, according to a Forrester analysis published in August 2020, reveals average 3-year benefits of $21 million, a 164 percent ROI, and a 90 percent shorter time to deployment than SAN-based infrastructure.
VMware costs $55 per person to run Citrix and another 24% each year for support, which Nutanix does not require. Customers who use a SAN must additionally buy, configure, redundancy, scale, and support vCenter Server (figure around 25 vCenters for 50,000 users).
Nutanix, on the other hand, uses the same KVM-based hypervisor that is utilized by every major public cloud provider. Designing, deploying, and maintaining Nutanix AHV is a breeze (as with the public cloud providers, no certifications required). Since 2015, Citrix has fully supported AHV across all of its products. Not only does AHV save a lot of money on license and maintenance, but it also saves time on administration and security hardening for the IT team.
If a company wants to run Citrix on VMware, Nutanix can do so as well. In fact, Nutanix's one-click upgrade method makes updating VMware much easier.
